Where will you love nature?
RSPB’s biggest ever charity collection starts soon with Love Nature Week
Love Nature Week 2012 is fast approaching and this year it will run from 19 May - 3 June, when people across Berkshire and the south east will be raising money for wildlife by supporting the RSPB.
So far, volunteers in the south east have pledged to give Love Nature Week over 275 hours of their time and it promises to be the RSPB’s biggest collection yet.
Emily Clark from the RSPB said: “This year, it's all about fundraising for local conservation projects, so all proceeds will be helping wildlife on your doorstep.
“In the South East, we are campaigning against the latest proposals for an airport in the Thames Estuary, and fighting to protect the precious Thames Basin Heaths from the sprawl of housing developments.”
“We already have volunteers signed up across Berkshire, but we need many more. It’s a great way to spend a couple of hours and to help local wildlife in your area.”
Nichola Willett is the Senior Community Fundraiser in the South East and she will be taking to the streets of Brighton, London and Canterbury through the week to shake a bucket and collect cash for conservation. She said: “The RSPB are involved in tackling conservation issues close to nearly every town and city in the south east.
“With help from volunteers through Love Nature Week we can make a difference. We would love everyone in the south east to step up for nature, get friends and family involved and raise some money.”
You can join RSPB collectors at a venue near you. All you need is a couple of hours and a good wide smile (we provide the bucket)! Join up online or contact Emily on 01273 775333 email Emily.clark@rspb.org.uk

found a sick or injured bird?

Just like us and our pets, wild birds can suffer from disease. Garden bird feeding can attract unusually high numbers of birds to a confined area, which enables disease to spread easily. |
